HHP Research Opportunities

Health and Human Performance Research Opportunities
Find out more about the research taking place in the University of Houston's Department of Health and Human Performance. Many of these HHP professors will meet with students who are interested in pursuing undergraduate research opportunities. The Department of Health and Human Performance offers undergraduates varying degree plans in the areas of Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition.
Past HHP undergraduate research projects have included:
--analyzing the effects of a perturbation training system on adults in order to improve the walking stability of humans
--working with the Texas Obesity Research Center developing a methodology for academic-community partnerships used to combat the obesity epidemic
--comparing physiological and performance responses of soldiers carrying backpacks during incremental treadmill protocols to aid military units in load carrying techniques
--evaluating the various social and environmental factors that contribute to obesity through the Health is Power (HIP) intervention
