Jessica Wilbanks is a third-year M.F.A. student in creative nonfiction at the University of Houston, where she serves as Nonfiction Editor at Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and the Arts. Her essays and creative nonfiction have appeared in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, The Puritan, Sojourners, The Normal School, and Relevant Magazine. She was recently awarded a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship from the West Africa Research Association to conduct research for her thesis, an essay collection focusing on the history and practice of Christianity in West Africa.
