Jacob Mills, a native Houstonian, first discovered the Great Books at St. John’s College where he did his undergraduate studies. After spending time in Ft. Collins CO, Portland OR, and Rio de Janeiro exploring and making music, he ended up back in Houston where he earned his MA in Philosophy at UH. He is currently finishing his PhD in Philosophy at Rice University. His research focuses on the History of Early Modern Philosophy (Descartes to Kant), Metaphysics, and Logic. His interests include exploring questions such as: why is there something rather than nothing, what are numbers, and what makes claims about possibility and necessity true.
