The Honors College Faculty : George Hawley
George Hawley is an Honors College Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow at the University of Houston. His research interests include electoral behavior, U.S. political history, Congress, and immigration. His research has appeared inSocial Science Quarterly, Party Politics, Electoral Behavior, and American Review of Politics. Hawley is presently researching immigration politics in congress, and currently has a book manuscript under review examining how migration within the United States is leading to an increasing number of politically uncompetitive communities.
Hawley earned a B.A. in print journalism and political science from Central Washington University. Before entering graduate school, Hawley worked for two years in Washington, D.C., for a U.S. senator and several non-profit organizations.(Ph.D., University of Houston)
