International Students

The University of Houston ranked among the top 25 colleges and universities in the nation for hosting the most international students on its campus in 2011-2012.  International students comprised of over 5000 students at the university in 2012. Additionally, the U.S. News and World Report ranked UH third most ethically diverse university in the nation in 2012.  The unique diversity that UH offers allows classes to be dynamic, and enriching due to the variety of minds in the classroom.

International students are attracted to UH for a number of reasons including the fact that the Houston region is now the most ethnically diverse region in the United States.  People from all over the world live in the Houston region, making it one of the most exciting and lively cites in the world. 

Houston is considered the energy capital of the world and over 23 Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in Houston.  Houston is also home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.  With the great education students get at UH and the close proximity some of the largest companies in the world, there are many opportunities for UH graduates to get a job after college.
