Admissions

Selecting a graduate school is an important step in laying the foundation for your future success.  Graduate schools should provide scholarly community where students and professors can discuss important topics in their field.  They should also consist of distinguished facility that take an interests in your intellectual growth, as well as, your personal expectations and future.  At The University of Houston, we pride ourselves in meeting all those qualities and in putting the student first so they can reach the goals they intended upon entering our great institution.  

The admission process at The University of Houston is handled by each respective college and department.  Information on admission requirements and procedures can be found on each departments particular website, by viewing the graduate admissions portion of our site and by contacting the advisor or coordinator of the program in which you are interested in applying. 

International Students

International graduate students need to follow a special process for admission into a graduate or Ph.D. program.  Prospective students are considered international graduate students if they are seeking either a Master's degree or Ph.D. and are NOT a U.S. Citizen, a permanent resident of the U.S., or an international student who has previously attended UH.  Interested students should view the FAQ section for applying as an international graduate student at The University of Houston.  International students can also visit the International Student & Scholar Services Office for more information.
