Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ECE 6330 and/or consent of instructor. Diffraction theory, Fourier optics, optical image acquisition, principles of ultrasonic imaging, ultrasonic image acquisition, imaging systems applications.
6360: Biomolecular Engineering Fundamentals
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: Graduate standing and/or consent of instructor. Analysis and design fundamentals for biochemical processes: introductory biochemistry, microbiology, biological kinetics, reactor design, transport phenomena; applications of enzymes and single mixed microbial populations.
6380: Computational and Biological Vision
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: Graduate standing and/or consent of instructor. Addresses the most difficult part of many biotechnological projects-actually producing a cloned protein in useful amounts. Some attention is also given to the use of recombinant DNA methodologies to produce proteins, and to characterization methods.
