Cr. 1. (1-2). Prerequisite: by audition only. Premier, professional-level chamber choir performing advanced choral repertoire on and off campus and offering members regular solo opportunities in mass, contata, and oratorio repertory. Large ensemble credit for graduate students.

6300: Introduction to Musicology
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing in music. Research materials; problems of paper and thesis writing.

6301: Pedagogy of Music Theory
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing in music. Teaching music theory on the junior or senior college level.

6303: Advanced Analysis
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: graduate standing in music and MUSI 4211 or equivalent. Advanced study of the forms, styles, and materials of musical structure.

6304: Choral Arranging
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing or postbaccalaureate status with permission of instructor. Study and application of the principles of part writing, arranging, and editing music for various voice groupings.

6305: Schenkerian Analysis
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing in music. Reductive analysis, levels of structure in tonal music, and graphing techniques.

6306: Analysis of Post-Tonal Music
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing in music. Set theory, serial theory, 12-tone operations.

Study of differing performance practices in various periods of music history through examination of treatises and other historical documents, scores, and recordings.
