6318: Coordination of School Health Programs Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HLT 3303, HLT 3304, or equivalent. Organization of school health programs, analysis of the interrelatedness of services, and environment and instruction.
6319:6320: Allied Health Education Cr. 3 per course. (3-0). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Curriculum development and organizational procedures for allied health programs in hospitals, community colleges, or health-related professions.
6321: Problems in Community Health
Cr. 3. (3-0). Required. Community health program planning: theories and strategies.
6322: Dimensions in Women's Health Cr.3.(3-0). Examines the epidemiological, historical, psychosocial, cultural/ethnic, legal, political, and economic factors influencing women's health.
6323: Cross-Cultural Aspects of Health Cr. 3. (3-0). An examination of cross-cultural influences on the health problems, medical practices, and use of health services within ethnic minority communities.
6325: Death Education Cr. 3. (3-0). An examination of the meaning of death with implications for health professionals.
6345: Health Promotion in Occupational Settings Cr. 3. (3-0). Strategies and skills for health-related professionals interested in planning and implementing health promotion programs in occupational settings.
6346: Community Resources and Health Referral Services Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Community agencies from local to federal levels that are available as resources for implementation of health-related programs.
6350: Administration of Allied Health Programs Cr. 3. (3-0). In-depth analysis of administative process of health professions education.
6392:6393: Field Work in Health Education Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HLT 6318 or consent of instructor. Supervised field observation and professional experience in school and community health agencies.
7193:7293:7393: Internship and Practicum Cr. 1-6 per semester. Prerequisite: approval of chair. Part- or full-time experience in educational situations under faculty and field representative direction and supervision. Seminars.
7305: Health Disparities Cr. 3. (3-0). This course examines the social and societal factors that are fundamental in creating disparities in health. The focus is on the formulation of public objectives to reduce and ultimately eliminate health disparities.
7319: Trends and Issues in Health Education Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HLT 6319, HLT 6323, or consent of instructor. Instructional trends for the clinic, laboratory, and classrooms.
7321: Seminar in Sex Education Programs Cr. 3. (3-0). Examination of sex education programs in diversified environments.
7322: Health Aspects of Aging Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: consent of instructor. Study of the aging process from a health perspective.
7324: Cancer Prevention: The Educator's Role Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: HLT 6318 or HLT 6319 or consent of instructor. Aspects of cancer prevention and treatment as well as the needs of cancer patients and their families. Emphasis on the role of cancer education in schools and communities as well as professional and patient education.
