6325: Selected Crafts for the Secondary School
Cr. 3. (2-4). Prerequisite: baccalaureate in art. Survey of traditional crafts and their application in contemporary society with emphasis on materials, processes and design adaptable to secondary art programs.

6345: Art in the Elementary and Secondary Schools
Cr. 3.(3-0). Prerequisite: Admission to Professional Development Sequence. Field-based course that introduces curriculum planning and organization, instructional methods, and management strategies for teaching art in the elementary and secondry schools.

6365: Integrative Art Teaching
Cr. 3. (3-3). Methods of integrating art criticism, art history, aesthetics, studio art, museum practices, and contemporary issues into K-12 art curricula.

7305: History or Art Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Art education as a social instrument is studied in the context of general culture.

7315: Philosophy of Art Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Exploration of philosophy of art education. Aesthetics is studies in terms of its application to contemporary issues in art education.

7340: Theory & Practice Related to Art Museum Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Exploration of historical and contemporary theories and practice in art museums. Students actively use Houston area museums and community arts organizations as sites of learning for the course.

7350: Curriculum Development in Art Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ARED 6360 or equivalent. Study and application of principles of art education curriculum design, development, and evaluation.

7352: Issues and Trends in Art Education
Cr. 3. (3-0). Examination and analysis of selected current issues, trends, and problems in art education.
