Law CenterExternal AffairsThe Office of External Affairs represents the UH Law Center to the external, legal, business, and broader community. The four departments of the Office of External Affairs are charged with improving the relationship between the UH Law Center and its alumni; planning all UH Law Center events from the Law Gala and Auction to faculty retreats and academic conferences; raising the visibility of the UH Law Center programs and faculty and publications, media relations, and programming; and identifying and cultivating donors to give contributions to the UH Law Center.A 33-member Alumni Board of Directors meets to plan alumni activities, as well as to serve in an advisory capacity to the dean. The alumni board sponsors various programs throughout the year, and Law Center graduates are automatically members of the Alumni Association. The University of Houston Law Foundation is a nonprofit 503 (c) approved to receive and administer funds contributed to it for the benefit of the UH Law Center. The UH Law Foundation maintains separate endowments for various scholarship funds and student activities, endowed faculty positions, academic program support, and general unrestricted gifts. The A. A. White Society is an organization honoring the founding dean of the UH Law Center. Membership is composed of alumni and friends of the UH Law Center who are committed to excellence in legal education. Private support through the annual fund drive, the A. A. White Society, and major contributions to the UH Law Foundation is critical to the continued academic strength of the UH Law Center. Several additional named scholarship and loan funds are available. Private contributions also make possible recognition and support for individual faculty. Distinguished GivingFoundersThis designation recognizes those individuals who have contributed $1,000,000 or more to benefit the University of Houston Law Foundation and University of Houston Law Center.
John M. O'Quinn Foundation BenefactorsThis designation recognizes those individuals and organizations having cumulatively contributed between $500,000 and $999,000 or more to benefit the University of Houston Law Foundation and the University of Houston Law Center.M.D. Anderson FoundationPartnersThis designation refers to those individuals and organizations who have contributed between $250,000 and $499,000 to benefit the University of Houston Law Foundation and the University of Houston Law Center.
Houston Endowment Inc. SponsorsThis designation refers to those individuals and organizations who have contributed between $100,000 and $249,000 to benefit the University of Houston Law Foundation and the University of Houston law Center.
