TxPHARM Admissions Committee Admission RequirementsApplicants must have received a 5-year Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy, or the equivalent. Depending on the year of graduation, additional education or training may be expected of some applicants to obtain the Doctor of Pharmacy degree.Candidates admitted to TxPHARM must be licensed in good standing to practice pharmacy in Texas prior to beginning experiential courses. Exceptions may be made for pharmacists not licensed in Texas but who are practicing in federal facilities in Texas, and who meet all other requirements of TxPHARM. Ninety percent (90%) of the applicants entering TxPHARM must be legal residents of Texas. TxPHARM is primarily intended to improve the practice of pharmacy in Texas in order to provide the highest quality pharmaceutical care for the residents of Texas. Alumni of the Texas colleges who do not hold an active Texas pharmacist license, or pharmacists who reside out-of-state, may apply for admission directly to the institution of their choice, but will not be considered by TxPHARM. Applicants should have recent pharmacy experience. Applicants must be computer literate including, but not limited to, experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications, e-mail, and web browsing on the Internet.
