College Business Manager: Coordinator of Graduate Studies: General InformationThe College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers graduate courses in the behavioral and social sciences, the fine arts, and the humanities. The goals of the graduate programs are to provide advanced academic instruction and expertise in the methods and skills of each discipline.Degree InformationThe Masters of Arts (M.A.) degree is offered in anthropology, communication, communication disorders, economics, English, French, German, philosophy, political science, public administration, sociology, Spanish, and speech communication. The Master of Arts degree in communication allows students to major in public relations studies, mass communication studies, or communication disorders. In the Master of Arts in English program, students may major in English and American literature, applied English linguistics, or literature and creative writing. Students in the history program may major in either history or public history.The Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree is offered in creative writing, theatre, and art, with studio concentrations in interior design, graphic communication, painting, photography, and sculpture. The Master of Music (M.M) degree is granted in applied music, music theory, music composition, music literature, music performance pedagogy, music education, and accompanying. The Doctor of Philosophy degree is offered in economics, English (with studies focusing on English and American literature or literature and creative writing), History, Political Science, Psychology, and Spanish. The Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree is offered in music with majors in performance, conducting, composition, and music education.
