Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture

Master of Architecture - Level II

Entrance Admission Requirements

  1. Applicants must have earned at least a four-year Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design degree (non-professional) or a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited university.

  2. Applicants must submit official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.

  3. Applicants must submit an 8 1/2" x 11" (A4) portfolio of representative design work for evaluation by the Graduate Admissions Committee. While the portfolio should demonstrate the candidate's ability in the field of architecture, it may also present evidence of abilities in related fields such as photography, painting, sculpture, and graphics. In addition to serving as one of the criteria for admission, the portfolio review is used in placing students in the design sequence. The portfolio should be securely bound and should be accompanied by a self-addressed postage-paid envelope if it is to be returned.
