General Admission Requirements:

The following are minimum requirements for unconditional admission to the college's graduate programs. See the specific department and major for special admission requirements.

The applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.00 (A=4.00) on the most recent 60 semester hours of university courses. A University of Houston Application for Graduate Studies must be submitted along with transcripts of all college-level course credit and a $35 graduate application fee. International graduate students must have a TOEFL score of at least 550 and must pay an additional application evaluation fee.

Conditional admission may be granted to students who have a grade point average in the range of 2.67 to 2.99 in their last 60 hours of undergraduate course work. Admission will depend on applicable test scores and other information. Contact the Graduate Program Advisor for additional requirements. Without Dean's approval only students who have been admitted to a graduate program will be permitted to enroll in graduate courses in the College of Technology.
