Pre-Optometry:

Students interested in pre-optometry studies at the University of Houston may obtain application forms from the following address:

Admission to the pre-optometry program does not admit a student to the College of Optometry. Students should enroll in courses that are the evaluated equivalent of those listed in the pre-optometry curriculum. The college welcomes inquiries concerning the selection of preoptometric courses at other institutions and urges students to solicit this service.

A four-year pre-optometry curriculum model can be found in the Undergraduate Studies catalog. Completion of the first three years fulfills minimum course requirements for admission.

Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS)

University of Houston undergraduate students with an interest in optometry are encouraged to join the Pre-Optometry Professional Society (POPS). POPS members meet frequently and maintain a constant dialogue with the College of Optometry administration, students and staff of the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions.
