Admission Requirements

In Addition to the college admission requiremnets, students who plan to attend the College of Optometry to study for a Doctor of Optometry degree must meet the following requirements:

  1. Prior completion of the baccalaureate degree or equivalent
  2. A minimum of four academic years, a seven week summer term after the second year, and a summer term after the third year
  3. Completion of 170 semester hours in core curriculum courses and seven semester hours in elective courses
  4. A passing grade in each core and elective course
  5. A grade point average of 2.00 or better in the professional educational program
  6. Compliance with all other applicable requirements in the general information section of this catalog and the College of Optometry regulations
