6301: Recent Trends and Methods in Secondary School Social Science Cr. 3.
(3-9). Field-based course that introduces placement of content, coordination
with other subjects, and integrated activities; materials and methods of
instruction.
6307: Methods of Teaching Art in the Secondary School Cr.3.(3-3). Prerequisite:
Admission into teacher education. For majors in art education. Curriculum
planning and theory, methodology, for teaching art at the secondary level.
6320: Teaching Mathematics in the Secondary School Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisite:
12 semester hours in mathematics. Field-based course that introduces
instructional materials, research and teaching, and evaluation techniques for
grades seven through 12.
6324: Science Instruction in the Secondary School Cr. 3. (3-9). Field-based
course that introduces methods and materials for teaching in the middle and
senior high school science classroom and laboratory.
6325: Teaching Physical Science Cr. 3. (3-0). Planning instruction, conducting
demonstrations and laboratory exercises, and constructing tests.
6335: Literature for Adolescents Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: graduate standing
in the College of Education or consent of instructor. Emphasis upon selection,
criteria for evaluation, and guidance of reading interests for 12- to
16-year-olds.
6340: Reading in Middle and Secondary Schools Cr. 3. (3-0). Methods and
materials for reading instruction in the middle and secondary schools.
6355: Teaching Art in the Secondary School Cr. 3. (2-4). Prerequisite:
admission to teacher education or consent of instructor. Overview of research
and theory in curriculum planning, instruction, and classroom management for
teaching art at the secondary school level.
6391:6392: Secondary School Internship Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisite: admission to
teacher education or consent of instructor. Supervised internship experiences
in secondary school teaching.
