6325: Selected Crafts for the Secondary School Cr. 3. (2-4). Prerequisite:
baccalaureate in art. Survey of traditional crafts and their application in
contemporary society with emphasis on materials, processes and design adaptable
to secondary art programs.
6330: Art in the Elementary Classroom Cr. 3. (3-0). Children's development in
art and application of art activities to learning in the basic skills areas in
the elementary school.
6335: Art for the Secondary School Cr. 3. (2-4). Prerequisite: baccalaureate in
art or consent of instructor. Study of art criticism, history, and media
appropriate for secondary school art programs.
6340: Art for the Elementary School Cr. 3. (2-4). Prerequisite: ARED 6330.
Introductory study of art criticism, history, and media appropriate for
elementary school art programs.
6345: Art in the Elementary and Secondary Schools Cr. 3.(3-3). Children's and
adolescents' artistic development and the application of contextualized art
education in elementary and secondary schools.
6350: Art Education Technology Cr. 3. (3-0). Examines the use of video
production, laser discs, hypermedia, and computer graphics for image making in
the art classroom.
6360: Teaching Art History in K through 12 Programs Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite:
undergraduate degree in art. Teaching the historical and cultural aspects of
the visual arts and the skills of art criticism in K through 12 art programs.
6365: Teaching Art Criticism, History, and Aesthetics Cr. 3. (3-3). Methods of
integrating art criticism, art history, and aesthetics into K through 12 art
program.
7305: History or Art Education Cr. 3. (3-0). Art education as a social
instrument is studied in the context of general culture.
7315: The Philosophy of Art Cr. 3. (3-0). Aesthetics is studied in terms of its
application to contemporary issues in art education.
7350: Curriculum Development in Art Education Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ARED 6360
or equivalent. Study and application of principles of art education
curriculum design, development, and evaluation.
7352: Issues and Trends in Art Education Cr. 3. (3-0). Examination and analysis
of selected current issues, trends, and problems in art education.
