Master of Architecture - Level I Entrance
Admission Requirements
In addition to the college admissions requirements, students must:
- Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited
university.
- Applicants must submit official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 3.00 cumulative grade point average
(A=4.00) during the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate studies.
- Applicants seeking to enter the program at Level I must have completed
university courses in classical physics (heat, light, electricity, sound, and
mechanics) and mathematics (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry). Further, each
applicant is encouraged to complete university courses in the history of
western civilization and freehand drawing or photography before initiating
graduate studies in the Master of Architecture Program.
- Applicants must submit an 81/2" x 11" (A4) portfolio of representative
design work for evaluation by the Graduate Admissions Committee. While the
portfolio should demonstrate the candidate's ability in the field of
architecture, it may also present evidence of abilities in related fields such
as photography, painting, sculpture, and graphics. In addition to serving as
one of the criteria for admission, the portfolio review is used in placing
students in the design sequence. The portfolio should be securely bound and
should be accompanied by a self-addressed, postage-paid envelope.
