Trip of a Lifetime

Trip of a Lifetime

Thanks to the generosity of two UH alumni, Honors College students can learn about Europe the fun way - traveling there.

Recognition & Thanks

You may give to UH for many reasons - to express thanks to former mentors, to give back to the institution that gave you your start, to honor cherished memories, to increase opportunity for today's students and tomorrow's leaders, or to be part of something big.

No matter your reason for giving, at the heart of each gift is your desire to make an impact through education, research, culture, and outreach programs.  Each contribution has a direct and immediate positive impact on the university and funds a level of excellence not supported through state assistance. Each gift is deeply appreciated, no matter the size, no matter what college or university program is supported.

Individuals who support UH with an annual contribution of $1,000 or more are recognized as leadership level donors. Generous partners who stimulate giving from friends and peers, leadership donors enjoy the following benefits:

  • Satisfaction of personally influencing the University's future.
  • Increased involvement in UH's ongoing development as a leading force in higher education.
  • Counted among those who set the standard for giving.
  • Communication about the difference their gift makes at UH.
  • Membership in college-based recognition societies.

In addition, there are specific recognition groups:
Consistent Donors-Individuals who have made an annual gift every year for 5 years in a row or more, are especially appreciated for their loyalty to UH. This group is growing and yet to be formally named, but the commitment of these alumni and friends who faithfully choose UH as one of their philanthropic priorities is recognized.

The Cougar Executives Organization (CEO) is comprised of alumni and friends who are business owners and executives of non-publicly traded companies. CEO membership is an opportunity to meet and network with other successful and distinguished business owners in the area. Alumni that make an annual gift of $500 or more per year are eligible for membership.

The 1927 Society recognizes alumni and other individuals who have included the University of Houston in their estate plans through planned giving. For more information contact the Office of Planned Giving, 713-743-8851.

Several colleges recognize generous donors through college-based recognition programs, including:

Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management: Keepers of the Lamp
C.T. Bauer College of Business: Circle of Honor
College of Pharmacy: Mading Society
College of Optometry: Dean’s Circle
UH Law Center: A.A. White Society
