Giving Matters

A husband and wife enjoy two totally different experiences at UH, but are showing their lasting gratitude to the school in the same way.

Recognition & Thanks

You may give to UH for many reasons - to express thanks to former mentors, to give back to the institution that gave you your start, to honor cherished memories, to increase opportunity for today's students and tomorrow's leaders, or to be part of something big.

No matter your reason for giving, at the heart of each gift is your desire to make an impact through education, research, culture, and outreach programs of the university.  Each contribution has a direct and immediate positive impact on UH and funds a level of excellence not supported through state assistance. Each gift is deeply appreciated, no matter the size, no matter what college or university program is supported.

Recognition groups include:

Rising Stars are recent graduates of UH who have made a gift within 5 years of graduation.  Recognition is earned with their very first gift to UH.  After 5 years of consecutive annual gifts, Rising Stars become HOUSTON Pacesetters.

HOUSTON Pacesetters recognize UH alumni, friends, faculty and staff who are among UH's most loyal donors.  HOUSTON Pacesetters have demonstrated their support of UH by making a gift every year for 5 consecutive years or more.  These donors are recognized because they faithfully choose UH as one of their philanthropic priorities year after year.

Leadership donors are individuals who support UH with an annual contribution of $1,000 or more.  They are recognized as generous partners who set the standard for philanthropic giving for friends and peers.  They have the satisfaction of knowing that they are personally influencing the University's future as a leading force in higher education.

The 1927 Society recognizes alumni and other individuals who have included the University of Houston in their estate plans through planned giving. For more information contact the Office of Gift Planning, 713-743-4749.

Several colleges recognize generous donors through college-based recognition programs, including:

Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management: Keepers of the Lamp
C.T. Bauer College of Business: Circle of Honor
College of Pharmacy: Mading Society
College of Optometry: Dean's Circle
College of Technology: Dean's Society
UH Law Center: Dean's Society
