Each gift to the University of Houston helps the University transform minds, push the boundaries of knowledge, and advance research to serve the common good. Each gift, large or small, is vital to our ongoing mission. And each gift is deeply appreciated. Several recognition societies honor donors at various levels.

Recognition Societies

The University of Houston gratefully acknowledges the support of exceptionally generous donors through several giving clubs:

Annual Giving Clubs

  • The President’s Club recognizes individual supporters who have contributed $2,500 or more in an academic year to the University and its colleges, departments, and special programs. Gifts designated to operating, endowment, capital projects, and improvements are included.
    1. President’s Club – For donors giving $2,500 to $4,999 during the academic year, matching funds included.
    2. President's Club Circle Member – For donors giving $5,000 to $9999, matching funds included.
    3. President's Club Cabinet Member – For donors giving $10,000 and more, matching funds included.

  • The Gold Cougar Club acknowledges donors who have given between $1,000 and $2,499 in an academic year.
  • The Silver Cougar Club recognizes donors at the $500-$999 level.
  • The Bronze Cougar Club encompasses donors who have given gifts of $250-$499.
  • The Red & White Club recognizes gifts in the $100-$249 range.

Other Donor Clubs

  • Cougar Executives Organization (CEO) is comprised of alumni and friends who are business owners and executives of non-publicly traded companies. CEO involves members as volunteers in a partnership with the University's to raise annual operating dollars and strengthen the university's corporate partnerships.   • The 1927 Society Recognizes alumni and other individuals who have included the University of Houston in their estate plans through planned giving For more information, contact the Office of Annual Giving, at (713) 743-4708.

  • Induction into a Recognition Society is based on the amount of money given. Donors are automatically enrolled upon making such a gift.
