Mark Twain Elementary Outdoor Reading Theater

Mark Twain Elementary, located in Braes Heights, offers a magnet program focusing on literary development. From the joint effort of the Twain Parent Teacher Organization and the Graduate Design/Buid Studio, the dream of an outdoor reading theater, based on Mark Twain's original octagonal studio, became a reality. The raised-floor 575-square-foot reading stage is without walls but offers an opaque roof to the west and a transparent roof under the nearby trees. The outdoor theater will be used to host guest authors, present puppet shows, and share storytelling.
