1)       Orientation Workshop for all New Senators and New Administrators 

        There should be mandatory orientation for all senators (new and returning) before the first official business meeting
        and should include a brief "mock" meeting to illustrate proper and unacceptable procedures of conducting business. 

2)       Provide Each Senator with a Small Handbook                      

        Copy of Faculty Senate Constitution and Bylaws                                                                                                

        Outline of Basic Parliamentary Procedure                                                                                                

       Ideas of where to go for help or information                                                                          

       Organizational charts of Senate and central administration                                                      

3)       Chat Room  

       An electronic place for discussion of Senate/University issues                                                       

        "Rumor Control" website should be updated weekly and should explain the original of the rumor  

       (or a disclaimer that the rumor is unfounded).  As this could involve a lot of work, there should be  
       "rules of submission" for rumors.                                                                                                  

        Comment:  Who will monitor and filter?

        Meet two times a year together with Executive Committee and UH Council Chairs

        Senators should be able to distribute materials from Faculty Senate Handbook to college faculty
