Academic Excellence Scholarship

Typically, entering freshmen will be eligible to compete for the Academic Excellence Scholarship if they:

• Rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class
• Score 1200 or above on the SAT or 26 or above on the ACT
• SAT scores are calculated using only the critical reading and math portions
• Have a complete admission file with the University of Houston

No application for this scholarship is necessary. All students are automatically reviewed for eligibility upon admission to the university. This award ranges from $2,500 to $7,000 per year and is renewable for up to four years. Please note that awards are subject to available funds and students should have a complete admission file by December 1, 2011 to be considered for priority funding. Our applicant pool has increased exponentially so be sure to complete your admission with the university as soon as possible!

**Note: Students receiving a National Merit Scholarship or Terry Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Academic Excellence Scholarship.
