One of the main features of Frontier Fiesta are the variety shows. These shows, hosted by student groups, are 30 minute long shows that include singing and dancing. These shows are judged in an individual competition as groups compete for the coveted “Joe Koppel Award” (named for the second chairman of Frontier Fiesta in 1941), which is awarded to the best overall show.
In addition to the show itself, the student groups construct elaborate “fronts” which act as an entrance to their tent for the performance. The fronts line the main midway of Frontier Fiesta, effectively becoming “Fiesta City”. They are usually are constructed in a theme to match that of the show.
Jack, Lauren, Mia, and C.T. fight to save UH after Dr. Tulane has set a voodoo curse to destroy all school pride. The curse has taken over most of the students, but it's up to these few to defeat Dr. Tulane and regain Cougar pride! Come watch them battle zombies, ghosts, and ghouls in “The Tale of the Cursed Cougar!”

The Crow's Nest, staring the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega and the gentlemen of Pi Kappa Alpha, presents The Cougar Bride. A story about a young girl named Lucy who falls in love with Zeke, a shy boy from the University of Houston. Zeke's plan is to propose to Lucy when an arrogant Rice student comes into play stealing Lucy away. Extremely upset, Zeke begins talking to his beloved statue “Agnes Arnold” that he has come to for guidance his past four years at the University. He practices his proposal on Agnes Arnold who then, to his surprise, comes to life! She brings him to the “underworld” to meet her friends who are deceased UH alumni as well as take him back in time to 1927 in order to show him her tragic story. Zeke then realizes what he has to do in order to get his love Lucy back.
Ever since the French Quarter Cougar Preschool gained their Tier One accreditation two years ago, enrollment at the Rice Montessori across the street has been declining rapidly. The director of the Rice Montessori has decided it is time to take matters into his own hands to shut down the Cougar Preschool. This way he can continue being the #1 Montessori in Fiesta City, and he can charge whatever tuition he wants since he no longer has competition across the street. Will his mischievous plan succeed? While he goes on potion class adventures and games of quidditch, something is estray. The Cougars Paw, which grants great power to whatever school has it, is missing.
