Returning from war and adjusting to civilian life can add to the burden of any former soldier. Veterans who continue their education at the University of Houston have additional support, thanks to UH’s renovated Veterans Services Office (VSO). The office has doubled its space to about 1,700 square feet, offering additional computers, new computer terminals designed for students with disabilities, and a new study room. New artwork was donated by student and veteran Sean Graves, who provided a collection of antique lithographs featuring historic battles. VSO provides UH students who are veterans with assistance in many areas including admissions, civilian life transition, credit evaluation for military training, and Veterans Administration health benefits as well as access to computers, phones, and fax services.
