With a 7-0 record, the UH Campus Recreation Women's Soccer Club Team dominated in regular season play and qualified to play in the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association regional tournament to be held Oct. 30- Nov. 1 in San Antonio.
The team, in their first year as a club team, is made up of 18 UH students -- all of whom played soccer on a competitive level prior to signing up for the team. The club team designation allows the students to compete at a higher level than intramural, but at a lower level than varsity. The club teams compete against other universities in the Houston area.
The regional tournament, to be held on the University of Texas at San Antonio campus, will be a single-elimination tournament. Twelve universities will be represented and pool play matches will determine who advances to the qualifying rounds.
If the team finishes in the top three at the regional tournament, they will represent the University of Houston at the National Campus Championship Series (NCCS) Soccer Championships in Phoenix, AZ on Nov. 19-21.
Let's cheer on the ladies as they continue to represent UH. Go Coogs!
