1st in the nation - The Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship was ranked first in the top 25 undergraduate entrepreneurship programs in the U.S. by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review in 2011.

Top 10 - C.T. Bauer College of Business was ranked 8th in the nation in minority graduates by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education in 2008.

Top 25 - University of Houston is ranked 21st in the nation among the best colleges with the most transfer students, according to U.S. News & World Report in 2009.

Top 50University of Houston  is ranked 41st in the nation among the best colleges with economic diversity by U.S. News & World Report in 2009.

1st in the world - National Institutes of Health grant helps UH train the world's first generation of nanobiologists.

One of a kind - The master's degree in Space Architecture is the only graduate program of its kind in the world.

Top 10 - The Creative Writing Program was ranked second in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2001, the last year the magazine ranked creative writing programs. In 2011, the Poets and Writers Magazine Reader's Poll ranked the UH Ph.D. program in creative writing fourth in the U.S.

Top 10 -The UH Law Center's Institute for Intellectual Property and Information Law was ranked fourth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2011.

Top 20 - The Kinesiology Ph.D. at UH was ranked 15th in the nation by the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education in 2006.

Top 100 - The C.T. Bauer College of Business Executive MBA program was ranked among the top 100 programs at public universities in the world by the Financial Times in 2008.

1st in the nation - The UH David M. Underwood chapter of the American Humanics program was recognized as the best in the country in 2007 by the American Humanics Management Institute.

Top 10 - The Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services bachelor degree programs were ranked 8th in the nation for producing minority graduates by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education in 2008.

Top 10 - The Psychology degree programs were ranked 7th in the nation for producing minority graduates by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education in 2008.

Top 20 - The UH MBA program ranked 12th in the nation and 5th among public universities in producing CEO's of S&P 500 companies, according to Bloomberg Markets in September 2004.
 
Top 10 - The UH College of Education was awarded the Distinguished Program in Teacher Education in 2007, by the Association of Teacher Educators, marking it as one of the best teacher preparation programs in the nation.

1st in the nation - The UH Department of Health and Human Performance was ranked first in the nation according to the 2006-2007 Academic Analytics Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index, an independent ranking of doctoral programs in research universities across the country. The UH program was ranked No. 1 among colleges and universities with health, physical education and recreation programs.

Top 5 - The UH College of Optometry was ranked third in the nation for awarding professional degrees to Hispanic students in 2011 by the Hispanic Outlook for Higher Education.
