Get Started

Blackboard Learn is available to anyone with a CougarNet login and can be accessed through accessuh.uh.edu or elearning.uh.edu

Requesting a Course

You must use the Course Request form to use Blackboard Learn and this must be done each and every semester. You will need your course number/section number to fill out the form.

Adding a TA

To add a TA to your Blackboard class, you will need to choose your TA from the TA list found in the Course Request form. You wll need the TAs PSID. In the course request form you can click on the instructor link to take you to the TA assignment. This can be done anytime during the semester. You will be sent an email to verify you have made the request as a last step in the process.

Faculty Workshops

If you are only using Blackboard as a supplement, you can probably learn what you need to know by attending one of the Quick Start Workshops scheduled throughout the semester. This is a one and one/half hour session which will help you identify the tools you might need to use and show you how to add these tools to your course.

If you are planning on teaching totally online or a hybrid course, a regular workshop would be most appropriate as you will learn not only what tools are available, but also how to use the tool in a pedagogically sound way. If you find that no scheduled workshop fits your calendar, please feel free to discuss other options with the Instructional Designers. If your department needs a specific workshop, please contact FDIS to discuss a way to arrange for this.

View the schedule and register for a Blackboard workshop.
