In various planning discussions we have envisioned that “functional” (business) analysts and leaders on the PeopleSoft Project Team would return to their "home base" as major modules went into production, and that Enterprise Systems in IT would assume responsibility for ongoing support.

As you are aware, the Financial and HR modules have been in production since September 1, 2001. While further tuning and changes will continue to be made to better serve our customers, we have decided to move the support to Enterprise Systems in IT. The following changes will be effective on February 8, 2002:

  • Functional project staff for the financial module will report directly to Jim McShan, AVC/AVP for Financial Services, and functional project staff for the HR module will report to Bob Herrington, AVC/AVP for Human Resources. Jim and Bob will further advise their staff about reporting, responsibilities, location, etc.
  • Project technical staff, including contractors, for these two modules, and database support will report to application managers in Enterprise Systems, or other technical managers in IT as appropriate.
  • The project team for the student system has also moved to Enterprise Systems.

The further evolution and transition of PeopleSoft at UHS will continue to be led and guided by functional managers, and will continue to use the existing oversight processes.

These changes will complete the integration of the project team into IT and the business units.
