Football Stadium Demolition Activity Schedule Released

Beginning Monday, Dec. 10, mobilization and construction fencing of the Robertson Stadium site will be complete.  This will affect the parking in the lots surrounding the stadium:  11A, 12A, 12B, 15D and 15F.  Lots 11A and 12B will be completely closed as well as 15D at Scott and Holman Drive.  Lots 12A, 15F and 15D (along Cullen) will be partially affected.  Please see the diagram below for reference.

All pedestrian sidewalks along Holman, Scott, Wheeler (unless otherwise affected by the Metro rail line construction), Cougar Place Drive and Cullen will remain open.  Additionally, all amenities in the Stadium Parking Garage will remain accessible.

The south end zone stands were taken down on Dec. 6 and demolition will begin in the southeast corner of the stadium on Dec. 10.  Anyone wishing to view the demolition can do so from the fourth level of the Stadium Parking Garage or via the construction cameras. These cameras can be accessed through the Facilities Planning and Construction webcast site.

During the demolition process, there will be loud noise associated with the chipping of the concrete, which is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, although the noise may not be continuous. The debris will be hauled away from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily to avoid any on campus traffic impacts. The demolition is expected to last approximately two weeks; however the university is looking for opportunities to accelerate the schedule.
