METRO has advised that it will shut the portion of Cullen Boulevard indicated below from 9:00pm on Friday, October 19, 2012 through 5:00am on Saturday, October 27, 2012 for light-rail construction.  

According to METRO, the closure will only impede northbound travel along Cullen Boulevard, which will detour at Wheeler to either Scott St. or Calhoun Road to continue travelling north, and will not affect southbound travel along Cullen Boulevard or the intersection of Wheeler Street and Cullen Boulevard for traffic on Wheeler.  METRO assures the University of Houston that access to Entrance 14 and Entrance 11 from the north-bound lanes of Cullen Boulevard will be maintained during this period.
