Description

UH-V plans to work with the City of Victoria to create a pedestrian friendly boulevard street between the new Student Center and Learning Commons building and the main campus area which is directly across Ben Wilson Street. Ben Wilson is currently a 4 lane thoroughfare and it will be changed to 2 lanes plus a turning lane with center boulevard, marked pedestrian crosswalks and irrigated landscaping.

This project will not only make it possible for students to safety cross over from the Student Center and Student Housing areas, but will include improvements to the drainage in this vicinity which has historical issues with flooding.

The exact make up of project funding is still TBD; however the City of Victoria has made a statement of funding commitment to accomplish this work.
