The Master’s Program in Curriculum & Instruction - Early Childhood Education guides students to extend their pursuit of excellence as teachers of young children (Pre-Kindergarten-3rd grade).  They are prepared to assume roles as professionals with exceptional teaching skills and aspirations.  The program ultimately prepares graduates for leadership in the improvement of education in metropolitan settings which is a central focus of the program.

The program provides the best possible preparation for careers as Early Childhood teachers and leaders in schools and child-related agencies such as hospitals, industry, mental health agencies, and associated fields.

The M. Ed. Curriculum & Instruction - Early Childhood Education is a two-year, 30-hour plan that is offered totally online (domestic applicants only). In order to complete the program in two years, you must follow the current degree plan.

What will I learn?

Through Curriculum & Instruction - Early Childhood program coursework, specialized electives, and a Comprehensive Exam or Master’s Thesis graduates will obtain the following skills:

Students work closely with faculty and fellow classmates to explore and conduct educational research as they improve their research, writing and presentation skills.  Students will learn to critically evaluate as well as implement early childhood curriculum programs.
