Comprehensive Exam - Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology
Comprehensive Exam Qualifications
All students must now pass the EPPP (Examination for the Professional Practice of Psychology) at the doctoral level to fulfill their comprehensive exam requirement. Please see the Counseling Psychology Program Handbook for additional details.
Remediation Procedures for Students Who Fail
When a student fails the comprehensive exam:
- A remediation committee is formed, consisting of two faculty members, not including the advisor.
- The committee reviews the student's performance on the exam, as well as the student's academic and professional history
- The committee devises an educational plan, the student and advisor review it and the committee considers their suggestions before it is finalized.
- The student may not retake the exam until the plan is completed, as determined by the committee
For additonal information students should reference the Counseling Psychology Program Handbook.
