Certificate Completion

Graduate-Level Coursework

Students are required to complete a total of four to five courses (12-15 graduate credit hours) and a capstone project for their certificate program. Some certificate programs require a practicum/field-study component.  Completed certificate coursework may be used towards a graduate degree in the College of Education. The Department and College will determine the eligibility of the coursework previously taken, which a formal approval process is required with the University. Students are encourage to speak with their assigned advisor for more information.

Professional Certificate Completion

Students who have completed all requirements for a certificate program should apply to graduate in myUH. Students are required to pay an application fee to graduate. However, students are not required to attend commencement or convocation ceremonies. The Office of the Registrar will issue an official document of completion for a certificate program at the University of Houston.
