Juanita Jackson
Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs
Juanita Jackson has served as the assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs since February 1999.Prior to joining the Division of Students Affairs; she served as the coordinator of student Ombudservices from March, 1995 to February, 1999 and as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs from April, 1980 to March, 1995. She has prior University service in the Office of Records and Registration and the College of Engineering.
The beginning of the new millennium marked 31 years of dedicated service to the University. Although Ms Jackson took several academic courses at the University of Houston, she is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a BA in Speech Communication and PB hours in Mass Transportation. She is a recipient of the 1981 UH Staff Excellence Awards; has served on numerous committees and councils; and provided staff support to a number of professional dean and administrative searches.
Ms Jackson is an active community volunteer with local and regional boards and agencies. She served diligently as one of the University of Houston representatives to the Third Ward Redevelopment Council, and has coordinated the Annual March of Dimes (Walk America) event hosted by the University of Houston for the last 5 years.
