Gage A. Raba

UH System Student Regent
Gage A. Raba was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents by Governor Rick Perry in April 2012 and will serve through May 31, 2013. Raba is currently enrolled at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston and pursing a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Development.  For fiscal year 2012, Regent Raba will serve as a member of the Academic and Student Success Committee and the Audit and Compliance Committee.

Raba is currently an active member in the Bauer Graduate Real Estate Club and the Bauer MBA Society.  Additionally, he served on the 48th Administration as a Graduate Senator at Large and was the Assistant Director of Operations for Frontier Fiesta 2012, a student run philanthropic event held in the Spring.  Raba was recently inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution.  Prior to graduate school, Raba was a Senior Manager for a local restaurant company.

Raba earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management in 2009.  As an undergraduate, he served on the executive council of the Interfraternity Council. He was also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Hospitality Management Society, and served on the executive council of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. 

Raba is part of a group of students appointed by the Texas Governor to serve on their respective university system governing boards. These students have the same powers and duties as regents, but do not vote or are considered part of a quorum. The first such appointees served from 2006 to 2007. Prior to this, student regents were elected by their peers.
