Brown Bag Discussion
The DSAES Professional Development Committee would like to invite you to a brownbag presentation on “CAS Standards: What are they and how are they relevant to the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services?” presented by the DSAES Professional Development Committee.
Location: University Career Services (UCS) – Student Service Center 1, Conference Room
Presenter: Pam Shefman, Director, Assessment and Planning, DSAES
The standards and guidelines developed by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education are commonly referred to as CAS standards. These standards are valuable tools that many universities use to evaluate program efficacy and conduct comprehensive program reviews. The CAS standards as an evaluation method is the basis of our divisional program review process; it will be useful for all staff to gain an understanding of these standards as they prepare for the review process. This presentation will focus on how the CAS standards inform the annual review process in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, including both internal and external reviews. Knowledge about CAS and how it applies to the division’s review process will help staff be equipped to manage CAS standards as they apply to their specific unit as well as provide tools to understand how standards are used on our campus and beyond.
Please RSVP no later than November 4, 2013
