University Career Services is celebrating National Student Employment Week from April 13 - 19, 2014 to recognize the contributions of the student employees at the University of Houston. The weeklong observance is a program sponsored by the National Student Employment Association (NSEA), a nonprofit association of professionals involved with programs for students who work while attending college. As part of the UH community serving students, alumni, staff/faculty, and other visitors, your participation would be greatly appreciated.
The National Student Employment Association annually provides colleges and universities the opportunity to recognize the importance of the student work experience during National Student Employment Week. Student employment offers students career-enhancing opportunities, the ability to develop skills relevant in any career, and better preparation for the job market upon graduation.

October 31 (The Daily Cougar) - Students trembled in anxiety as the elevator doors opened to the Haunted Penthouse. Even the entrance to the pitch-black room proved to be intimidating, as students were greeted with a maniacal “Hello!” from a startlingly creepy clown.
October 30 - Students who don’t currently live on campus but want to do so in the spring semester can now start booking their rooms. Most of the university’s seven residential facilities have space available.

How Was Your UH WOW 2013 Experience?
The first two weeks of the semester, known as the UH Weeks of Welcome (UH WOW 2013), aimed to celebrate and welcome new and returning students back to campus.
October 4, 2013 - In September 2013, Dr. Scott J. Spear joined the University of Houston as Executive Director/Chief Physician of the University of Houston Health Center. Dr. Spear obtained his B.A. at the University of Texas at Austin and his M.D. at Baylor College of Medicine.
October 2 (NACAC) - Jeff Fuller, director of student recruitment at the University of Houston (TX), was voted president-elect of the 2013-2014 Board of Directors of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) at the organization’s 69th National Conference in Toronto.
Host your next big event or meeting at the NEW UC. Once Phase I of the UC transformation project is complete in January 2014, new spaces will be available to host your next event. Beginning October 1, 2013, the University Center will be accepting reservation requests for the new meeting rooms and event spaces for Spring 2014.
