The Ambassador Award
The Ambassador Award honors an individual or group of individuals who has brought significant recognition to the University of Houston and the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. He or she or the group is known and has been recognized as a leader in their professional field, or has received recognition for their contribution to the discipline in some substantial and significant way, thus serving as a model for Student Affairs staff/office/departments everywhere.

Excellence in Innovation Award
The Excellence in Innovation Award honors an individual or group of individuals whose innovative ideas, products, or services have created significant change for students, the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, or the University. This award strives to celebrate innovation in action, not only the creative idea, but also the impact that practical application of the idea has made on creativity in the use of resources, which includes people, budgets, and technology. Any individual or group of individuals who has demonstrated the ability to take initiative in developing a new or enhancing an existing product, program, or service to meet the changing needs of the students, Division, or University may be nominated.

Outstanding Assessment Award
The Individual Outstanding Assessment Award is designed to provide recognition to an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to utilizing assessment in order to encourage student success at the University of Houston. Recipients of this award will serve as models for the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services with regards to assessment in terms of innovation, methodology, collaboration, and willingness to make improvements based upon assessment results.

Outstanding Professional Award of Excellence
This Outstanding Professional Award is presented to a staff member recognizing service, dedication, and contributions to the University beyond the requirements and expectations of the job. Characteristics of an employee’s performance which contribute to excellence include: superior job performance and a high degree of proficiency in their areas of responsibility; outstanding personal traits such as dedication, loyalty, reliability, courtesy, honesty, and initiative; continuous demonstration of service concepts necessary to support the Department, the Division and the University; initiative in making improvements to work methods, standards, or operations; or developing new programs, services, or cost savings which enhance or support the department of the university; and the ability to work cooperatively as a member of the work team.

Outstanding New Professional Award
This Outstanding New Professional Award is presented to a staff member with less than two years of service within the Division who has demonstrated exemplary performance promoting/addressing Critical Issues and Student Success Initiatives of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. This individual is one who has exemplified quality work and has made a significant impact on campus life, exhibited work beyond expectations, and developed outstanding relationships with students. This staff member is one who has demonstrated outstanding leadership through a willingness to help others and developed strong working relationships through collaboration with other departments within the Division. Nominees for this award must have joined the Division after May 1, 2011.

The Transformational Leadership Award
The Transformational Student Affairs Leadership Award is presented to a staff member who transforms our students into the leaders of our community and beyond. The staff member exemplifies the leadership example we nurture our students to become. The staff member brings about transformation by creating a change in structure, appearance and/or character. The staff member is a leader in the development of a dynamic and diverse culture that facilitates learning and engages students. The staff member creates opportunities to spark transformation within students and Student Affairs staff.

Students First Award
The Students First Award recognizes special, unique or extraordinary efforts on behalf of students that reflect a "Students First" mentality. These individuals or groups offer what we do best in the best possible way, while thoughtfully balancing educational needs and customer service. Nominees endeavored to make procedures, services, facilities, programs, and/or the general collegiate learning environment welcoming, efficient, and of exceptional quality in order to enhance student success. Others, especially students, may comment on the helpfulness, professionalism and assistance of these individuals or group and on their willingness to create a positive, active and inclusive learning community.

The Graduate Assistant/Student Award of Excellence will recognize a graduate student who has gone above and beyond expectations or honors a special, unique or extraordinary effort he or she has made within an assistantship or position. He or she demonstrates strengths in areas such as instruction, advising and assisting students, research and creative activity, and outreach and/or service to the University, community and/or profession. Nominees must be a graduate student in good standing with the University and employed by a department within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services.

Student Employee Award of Excellence
The Student Employee Award of Excellence will recognize an undergraduate student who has gone above and beyond expectations or honors a special, unique or extraordinary effort he or she has made within a student employee position. He or she demonstrates strengths in areas such as customer/customer service, exhibits a positive attitude, has dedication to their office/unit/department, and has made a positive impact on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services.

Cougar Spirit Award
The Cougar Spirit Award recognizes the individual or group who best exemplifies the true "Cougar" spirit of the University, Division, and Community. The individual or group's "spirit" is demonstrated through positive attitude, acts of University loyalty, teamwork, creativity, and cooperation. He or she is the "Heart of UH," demonstrating integrity, respect and dignity of all individuals, and concern for the welfare of others. His or her life serves as a model that demonstrates what it means to take pride in the University of Houston.

The 3C Award recognizes the guiding principles of Collaboration, Communication and Community and is presented to an individual, group, department or committee in Student Affairs who best exemplifies the notion of being a "team player." This person or group of persons exemplify the teamwork, inclusion, and consensus-building required to achieve common goals and objectives.

The Diversity Award is presented to an individual or group that demonstrates a commitment to services and/or programs that promote a spirit of pluralism and helps to build an environment of inclusivity. Diversity includes all aspects of human difference including: race; culture; ethnicity; religion; age; gender; gender identity; sexual orientation; socioeconomic status; and ability. Nominations for individuals or groups whose jobs do not routinely provide opportunities to address these issues, but who have made a significant effort to do so, are especially encouraged.
