By The Light of Delta Gamma…
We Help Others to See

Delta Gammas all over the world “Do Good” for the Delta Gamma Foundation. The sisters of the Gamma Sigma chapter at the University of Houston have donated the time and efforts to Service for Sight, The Lighthouse of Houston and the University of Houston’s School of Optometry, as well as non-foundation related institutions.

Service for Sight

Gamma Sigmas primarily devote their foundation time to planning fundraising philanthropy events in which all the profits benefit those who are blind or visually impaired.

Anchor Splash®

During the Fall semester, Delta Gamma invites all students and faculty of the university alike to join in Anchor Splash, an annual swimming competition. Fraternities, sororities, campus organizations, and even alumnae groups have been known to form teams and compete against each other at relays and synchronized swimming routines. Anchor Splash is one of the most popular events at the University of Houston .

Anchor Bowl

In the Spring of 2005, Delta Gamma organized a bowling competition to benefit the blind and visually impaired. Tau Kappa Epsilon won the competition with Sigma Chi in a close second.

The Lighthouse of Houston

In 2005, Gamma Sigmas joined forces with sisters from the Eta Gamma (A&M) chapter during Spring Break to help with The Lighthouse’s annual Beeping Easter Egg Hunt.

The University of Houston School of Optometry

The Gamma Sigma chapter is lucky to have the School of Optometry, a full service eye clinic, so near. The
School of Optometry has continually provided Delta Gammas with service opportunities and chances to interact with patients.
