Listed below are the different volunteering events that we participated in throughout the week of Spring Break.


MONDAY, MARCH 11th

Monday’s volunteering event will be held at Houston Food Bank, where volunteers will help sort and inspect incoming food donations, as well as get a tour of the establishment.

Time: 1:00PM – 4:00PM
Location: 535 Portwall St. Houston, TX 77029

Day of Volunteer
Meet in front of the University Center at 12:00PM
Dress code: Jeans & T-shirt. No shorts or open toed shoes allowed for safety reasons.


TUESDAY, MARCH 12th

Tuesday’s volunteering event will be held at Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels location where volunteers will help assembly breakfast bags to be delivered to those in need, as well as get a tour of the establishment.

Time: 11:00AM – 2:30PM

Dress code: Casual & Comfortable. No open toed shoes allowed for safety reasons.


WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13th

Wednesday’s volunteering event will be held at Harry Holmes Healthy Harvest garden in Sunnyside alongside with Urban Harvest where volunteers will help the garden leaders with large and small garden projects. Clean-up, planting, watering, organizing, building and much more!

Time: 10:00AM – 2:00PM
Location: 4646 Brinkley St. Houston, TX 77051

Day of Volunteer
Meet in front of the University Center at 9:00AM
Dress code: Casual & Comfortable clothing for outdoor gardening. It is advised, but optional, to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and bug spray. BRING WATER. Garden gloves will be provided for volunteers.
Lunch will be provided


THURSDAY, MARCH 14th

Thursday’s volunteering event will be held at SEARCH Homeless Services’ location where volunteers will help clean, and organize the building, as well as get a tour of the establishment.

Time: 9:00AM – 1:00PM

Day of Volunteer
Meet in front of the University Center at 8:00AM
Dress code: Casual & Comfortable. No open toed shoes allowed for safety reasons.
Lunch will be provided


FRIDAY, MARCH 15th

Friday is the fun day! As a reward for the volunteers’ hard work, those who participated in two or more volunteer days the week of Spring Break will get a FREE Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo package, which includes admission, voucher for lunch items and tickets to the carnival. Those who did not get a change to volunteer two or more times are still welcome to come!
