Weeks of Welcome Day of Service

Saturday, August 26, 2017

Join all members of the UH community – incoming students, returning students, faculty, and staff- for a day of service with our campus and community partners working to address social issues facing Houston on Saturday, August 26. Participants will have the opportunity to choose between the following service shifts:

Shift One: 8:30am – 1:00pm
Shift Two: 9:30am – 2:00pm

Transportation, lunch, a t-shirt, and all materials required for service projects will be provided for all volunteers. Participants will be assigned to service projects the morning of the event. If you wish to volunteer at the same service site with your team, organization, or friends, plan to check in together so we can make every effort to accommodate this request. There will be a wide range of projects available such as gardening, painting, neighborhood clean ups, and more with the following community partners:

  • Harris Health
  • McGovern Gardens
  • Houston Public Library
