2017 Guest Collumn Contest

The Cougar is hosting a guest collumn contest! Respond to the prompt below in 500 words or less, and submit it to editor@thedailycougar.com by midnight on Friday, September 22nd. Essays will be judged by The Cougar Editorial Board, and the winning essay will be announced on social media and published in The Cougar online on September 27th.

Should your First Amendment right to freedom of speech apply to private domains, like your classroom or workplace?  Should there be consequences for using freedome of speech in these settings?

The winning author will win a $75 bookstore gift card, courtesy of the Center for Student Involvement.
