Assistance League of Houston Scholarship

The Center for Students with DisABILITIES (CSD) and the Assistance League of Houston are pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for eligible University of Houston students. Scholarships are available for students who have certain disabilities and are registered with CSD.
The Assistance League of Houston is a non-profit, local chapter of a national organization committed to providing several scholarships for eligible students.

Eric P. Alexander Memorial Scholarship

The University of Houston Center for Students with DisABILITIES (CSD) is proud to offer the Eric P. Alexander Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is given in loving memory of a young man who had a learning disability.
The purpose of this scholarship program is to encourage UH students who have learning disabilities to pursue their educational and career objectives. Scholarship recipients will be awarded up to $1,000 for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Internship Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

The Washington Center is pleased to announce their continued Public Service Internship Program for College Students with Disabilities. Students with disabilities who participate in The Washington Center's internship program for the summer, spring or fall term are eligible to receive a $2,500 scholarship to help cover the cost of housing fees. Students from all majors are eligible to apply and gain internship experience in their field.

New Texas Veteran Resource Web Site

The new statewide Texas Veteran resource web site is up and running! This site is funded by the VA but is connected to SB 1058 from last session, which connects vets to resources using the 2-1-1 system. SANDI Project: Helping Individuals with Spina Bifida

The SANDI Project is a five year, five million dollar collaborative research project between the University of Houston, the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children, and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
