Houston Endowment, Inc. has been a dedicated sponsor of the Mickey Leland Congressional Internship since it was created by Congressman Leland in 1981. While the Endowment is the primary sponsor of the Leland Internship, the foundation's support is contingent on broad community backing. The cost to send one intern to D.C. is approximately $10,000 per intern.
