Mark P. Jones, PhD Professor and Director of Graduate Studies Department of Political Science Rice University Dr. Mark P. Jones (Ph.D., University of Michigan) is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Political Science at Rice University. His research focuses on the effect of electoral laws and other political institutions on governance, representation and voting. He has received substantial financial support for this research, including two grants from the National Science Foundation. His recent articles have appeared in journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Electoral Studies and the Journal of Politics. Professor Jones regularly advises several United States government institutions on economic and political affairs in Argentina and has conducted research on Latin American public policy issues for numerous international organizations, including the Inter-American Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme and World Bank.
